The Brownies went on their annual pack holiday in August and a great time was had by all.
Here are a few of their comments on their return:-
I liked it when we went on the climbing wall in the basement, we don’t normally, but because it was too wet for archery we got to do it for a treat. We went into the basement and put on the helmets and took it in turns to climb across and then we had to pick two colours and climb across on only them, if we couldn’t you had to count all the cheats you did, I did none!
Katy Poulter
At Brownie pack holiday Snowy took us on the Climbing Wall and we played a game where you had to only go on one colour – I made it across three times successfully. Two times I fell off but I didn’t hurt myself though as we had to wear helmets for safety and there was a safety mat underneath.
Cara Johnson
I liked it when we did all the art and crafts. I really liked it when we made the diaries. When we were doing the diaries I liked it when we twisted the wool round and round. When we made the purses it was really fun because we got to put stickers on them.
Alex Holmes
On the very first night we chatted about a lot of things we would all say “I’m going to go to sleep now” but then we would laugh and start talking again. I fell asleep at midnight and I was so sleepy that morning.
Jessica Seldon
On the very first night we were all talking and I was wobbling my wobbly tooth. Then I wobbled it a bit too much and it came out. Jess was going crazy searching for her tissues and Brown Owl came in. I took my tooth home and received £2.00 for it.
Sian Keag
My favourite part about Brownie pack holiday was when we went to bed and we got to talk but then Brown Owl came in and we all pretended to be asleep and when Brown Owl went out we all started giggling. It was so funny. We were really lucky to play archery because it was raining on the day we were meant to do it.
Lauren Dale
At Brownie pack holiday my favourite thing was talking in bed. Every night we were the noisiest room. But it was fun we were telling jokes and laughing and stuff it was really fun. At some point we hid some sweets in a box and ate them that night. We talked about really funny things and couldn’t stop laughing we just laughed for the sake of it!
Eimer Griffin
My favourite part of pack holiday was when we were playing games. These are the games that we played:- Tigiswilly wirly ?, Heads, Top Trumps, the Climbing Wall, Wink Murder, Ghost in the Graveyard, Hide and Seek, Sardines and the Pyjama Party.
Eleanor Clark
Katy, Rebecca, Cara, Alex and me were in a room together. Katy, Cara and Alex were on the top bunks and Rebecca and me were on the bottom. Our room had a wonderful view of fields and houses in the distance and the dales.
Harriet Lister
On pack holiday I liked having drinks before going to bed. I liked it because I don’t do it much in my house. It was fun and I always had hot chocolate. I loved it so much that I would like to do it at my house more.
Emily Smailes
My favourite bit about pack holiday was all the games we played. The best games were Wink Murder, Hide and Seek and lots more.
Lauren Busch
On pack holiday I liked it when we had quiet time because I liked practicing our play and lying on my bed. I also liked the grass sledging and my favourite was the Pyjama Party.
Anna Keag
I loved it when we did archery when were going to go home. The first group was : Katy, Cara. Eleanor, Lauren and Eimer. The second group was me, my sister, Lucy, Hannah, Sian and Amy.
I hit the target but on the white. We had to clip our arrows on to the string and pull it back to the edge of your mouth. You were supposed to hit the balloon on each target - right in the centre – we had two goes each.
Neve Henson
I liked the grass sledging because I thought it would be scary but it was really so much fun. You had to wear a helmet and you had to go in the coolest sledge ever. Someone had to push you to start and some of them went fast and some of them were slower.
Charlotte Mason
On pack holiday I loved the shopping – I bought lots of sweets and I bought 3 charms for me, Sophie and Mammy. I bought a chocolate bar for my Dad.
Olivia Muncaster
The highlight of pack holiday was when my family came to see me because I was feeling homesick and I couldn’t get to sleep that easily. They bought me some of my things and I stayed! The other thing I enjoyed was the Pyjama Party. I’m glad I stayed because the Pyjama Party was great and it was my last pack holiday.
Hannah Read
My favourite part of brownie pack holiday was when we had a picnic on the hill in Ilkley and put bubble soapy water on our hands and blew bubbles between our fingertips. It was very fun.
Amy Curtis
The best part of the Pyjama Party was the games and having hot chocolate really late at night. I also loved all of the music. The best game was the one where you have to pick up the cereal box with your teeth (without touching the floor with anything other than your feet) until you fall over.
Lucy Hillcoat
On the last day when we were about to go home the guides (who were camping) were doing Archery and we joined them. I have never done it before and I didn’t hit the target.
Rebecca Dale
Some of our brownies were on holiday when we went on pack holiday. It sounds as if they had a good time too!!
I liked it when I met my cousins called Marta and Sergio it was fun being with my family in Spain. We went to the summer swimming pool and it was fun. It was nice to see Spanish friends again. We normally went to the park and left late – we did so many things I can’t remember them all!
Alicia Batley
On my holiday I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I went to see my Grandma and we went to Butterfly World – There was a fat butterfly.
Charlotte Holmes
I liked it when I ran into the sea in Ibiza. I went with my Granny and Grandpa, Mummy, Daddy and Isobel and Barney. It was really fun and we had a great time.
Christie Day
I liked going to Ibiza – going to the beaches with big waves and going into Ibiza town.
Isobel Day
My favourite part of my holiday was when I went to the theatre to see the “Sound of Music”. It was exciting and funny - it finished at 10.00pm at night. It was sad, funny and happy, at one part I was crying because I was so happy.
