Clifford is blessed with a very polished Drama Group which puts on two plays every year in the Village Hall. They run a very effective Patron scheme which allows patrons to attend all productions free. They also get to attend a wide variety of other functions put on by the Group, such as the annual BBQ, theatre visits, etc. As with most drama clubs they are always eager to attract more members to act on stage, present or produce plays or help with all the other things needed behind the scenes. If you're interested call 530652 for a chat, look at the website which contains phone numbers and e-mail links.
Keep an eye on OUTLOOK and the News and Events page for other upcoming events. |

Clifford Local History Group |
|
This group meets regularly through the year, with occasional public meetings on topics relevant to the history of Clifford. These are held in the Village Hall, will be publicised in Outlook and all residents are invited to attend. The group's creation of the interpretation board situated by the war memorial and the publication of the history trails leaflet last year were both well received. Our most recent project was to produce a calendar for the Queen's diamond jubilee in 2012 containing photos of the village during the last 60 years. A copy was delivered free to every house in Clifford parish.

Daytones is a group of male singers which meets every Tuesday in Clifford Village Hall, 10 am. to 12 noon. We are a very sociable group and welcome new members to come along and enjoy a morning of song.
This is a great experience for those who always wanted to sing in a choir and be given the opportunity and confidence to do so.

The Boston Spa Men's Forum is a friendly, informal organisation for men from Boston Spa and the surrounding area. We meet at Clifford Village Hall on Wednesday mornings, from September to April, to chat with friends and neighbours, to have a tea or coffee and then listen to the week's talk from an invited guest speaker. The topics cover a wide range of interests and are often accompanied with a slide show. In the last few months we have seen fascinating glimpses of Antarctica; The origins of place names; The Moon, Stars & 4 Clocks; WW2 - Barnbow; Confessions of a Rugby Referee; The World of Andrew Lloyd Webber and The Yorkshire Film Archives.
Guests and new members are always welcome to come to any of our weekly meetings. Why not call in and say hello to neighbours and new friends - share a smile and a joke - listen to one of our talks? If you like the experience, then you are welcome to join us and become a member.

Wetherby & District University of the Third Age |

U3As are autonomous, self-help organisations run by the voluntary efforts of members. They are for people who are retired or coming up to retirement and who are looking for fun, enjoyment, new interests, new friends and to keep mentally active.
Wetherby & District U3A provides opportunities for members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications, but for fun. Our most important principle is that we teach and learn from each other.
We have 40+ established groups from Architecture via Cycling and Map Reading to Walking.
We now have a quarterly Newsletter and a Monthly Memo to keep our members up to date with what is going on in the groups. These can be picked up, as well as information leaflets and membership forms, at Wetherby and Boston Spa libraries or online at our website. Why not come and join us? |
